Estupenda cena un viernes por la noche en la zona metropolitana. Nos pedimos queso asado con mojos, huevos rotos, ropa vieja y un solomillo con manzana y cebolla caramelizada muy rico. Muy económico, poco más de 10€ por persona

We arrived quite late, just as the kitchen was about to close. We thought they'd tell us it was too late, but the opposite happened. They greeted us with a smile and said, "Don't worry, we'll take care of you. Eat at your leisure, there's no rush here." That gesture, which might seem small to many, meant so much to us. It was our first time in Tenerife, and Paco, the waiter, made us feel like we'd lived there all our lives. He enthusiastically explained what wrinkled potatoes were, how they were actually eaten, and the tradition behind them. Then he recommended some prawns with a signature house sauce that were absolutely divine. And to finish, a sirloin steak with peppers and smoked cheese that, frankly, was spectacular.

But what truly made the dinner special wasn't just the quality of the food. It was the passion with which Paco spoke about each dish, its origin, and Canarian cuisine. It wasn't a rehearsed explanation; it was someone conveying his pride in his homeland. We listened to him with smiles, enjoying his stories as much as every bite.

In a world where everything is often rushed and the customer is just another number, finding a place where you feel welcome, where they take care of you and enjoy making people happy, is priceless.

We'll leave Tenerife with many memories, but this dinner will be one of them. Thank you, Paco, and thank you to the entire team at El Escondite de Lucas, for demonstrating that the best recipe requires not only good ingredients but also heart.

We came to this town by chance because my friend was looking for a pharmacy and we stumbled upon this bar and decided to stop for tapas. The waiters were incredibly attentive, the food was delicious, especially the snails, the wine was so fruity that even Dionysus, the God of wine, wouldn't have dreamed of it, and the complimentary shots were fantastic. We'll definitely be back to try all the dishes because they looked like they belonged in a Michelin-starred restaurant. Highly recommended.
