The food wasn't bad. In fact, we quite liked the ropa vieja. But the worst part was the heat inside. I've never been so uncomfortable eating anywhere. The dining area seems to be in an added shed with no insulation whatsoever. And of course, air conditioning was out of the question.
The service was quite fast, which we appreciated because we were eager to leave.

The gentleman named Alberto was having a bad day; if it's full, you'll have to wait, but if you get a table, your food will arrive in 5 minutes. Everything is very good, and the prices are incredibly cheap.

Both the half portions and the full portions are very small. It's a place frequented by working people, and the portions shouldn't be so generous. I wouldn't return for that reason; the price doesn't justify the amount you get. Furthermore, the noise level inside the bar is awful; you can barely have a conversation.

In La Laguna, you won't find a more complete bar-restaurant for typical local dishes, as well as its house wine, fast service, and very reasonable prices. The staff is young, polite, and highly trained. For me, there are four standout dishes: the squid in sauce, the salted fish, the ropa vieja (a stew), and the calamari—all worth ordering again and again.
