Guachinche La Morenita

I'll be brief: Sunday, June 19th, 2:00 PM, and only two cars outside. We hesitated because on Sundays at that time, there's never an empty seat, and we were hungry. The main dining room smelled damp; I understand the area is very cold, and that's what happens with wood. There were two adults and a child. We ordered huevos rotos (broken eggs), a salad without raw onion, and a "la morenita" sirloin steak (their specialty). We ordered huevos rotos (broken eggs), a salad without raw onion, and a "la morenita" sirloin steak (their specialty). They brought the huevos rotos with a whole chopped onion on top of the eggs and potatoes (the first time I've ever seen that). We had to remove it ourselves. We found a few pieces in the salad. The problem was the "la morenita" sirloin steak (€25). It was cooked perfectly, the fries were good, there was a little sweet potato, but the mushroom sauce was absolutely awful. It must have been curdled, the cold chain was broken, or something. Luckily, the child barely touched it and was only sick for one day. My wife and I had gastroenteritis for two days; we didn't have any afternoon snack or dinner that day. Obviously, we won't be back, nor do I recommend it. It's a shame because the service is friendly and attentive, but you don't play games with people's health. If you know the food isn't fit to be served, don't offer it.

Funny fact: there were only two tables occupied, and they instructed the waiters to park cars in front of the door to make it look like they were full. If you go one day and parking is limited, check the tables; there's a trick involved.

Yesterday, Tuesday the 7th, my partner went to this restaurant with his father. They ate sardines and octopus. My partner thought the food smelled very strange, but he didn't want to assume the worst and they ate it. His father ate more than he did. My partner ended up with terrible stomach pain, and his father got food poisoning from eating spoiled octopus. He was literally vomiting octopus all afternoon and had to be hospitalized. Very friendly and welcoming staff.
Very plentiful and traditional food.
We recommend the escaldon and the sweet potato!

We were the first customers to arrive at the restaurant. They made a mistake with our order and served what we ordered to another table. Instead of fixing it immediately, they kept us waiting. It took so long that we lost our appetite and left. We will NOT be back.

Perfect place when you're looking to take someone out for a meal... A beautiful, Canarian spot with delicious food. The service is impeccable. Great atmosphere for celebrations, family gatherings, or get-togethers with friends. The goat meat is spectacular, highly recommended.

For our main course, we asked about the beef cheeks (how they were served), and the waitress implied they came whole and weren't very big, so we ordered three (we understood that to mean three pieces of beef cheeks) to share between the three of us and the child. To our surprise, the waiter came with three enormous plates of beef cheeks, one for each of us, which we obviously couldn't eat and had to take away (since we were going to pay for them anyway). The beef cheeks were good, to be honest, but paying for three dishes we weren't going to eat seemed outrageous (especially at €20 each)... the key is to properly inform the customer when asked. We didn't order dessert or coffee. Needless to say, we paid over €90 for a meal that wasn't worth it at all. We certainly won't be back, and I definitely don't recommend it.
